How I Invested in Well-Being and Time Optimization on the Path to Fat FIRE
I’m about to start a new remote role as a Staff Software Development Engineer at a major tech company, with a higher level of responsibility and compensation than my previous position. As I navigate this transition, I’m curious whether others pursuing Fat FIRE have maintained similar income levels while taking on moderately demanding roles on their way up, and, crucially, how they prioritized time and well-being along the journey.
Personally, I’ve tended to do most things myself, but I’ve noticed colleagues who increasingly rely on outsourcing to free up time for their craft. With that in mind, I’m exploring investments that could yield better focus, energy, and productivity.
Potential investments I’m considering:
– Personal training
– Nutrition guidance or meal service
– Cleaning services
– Ergonomic desk and chair setup
– Meaningful vacations and breaks
I’m interested in hearing experiences and strategies from others who’ve balanced high-earning trajectories with intentional well-being. What have you found most effective, and where do you see the best return on time and energy investments? Thanks for sharing.
